| NewsOh, the MemoriesThanks to Chris Johnson '74 for answering our recent call for memories. He writes "The most EMBARRASSING time has to be when I knocked Roger Willis’s book shelves off his wall with my stereo. It was another of those late nights (early morning actually) after a fun night in the bum room. Roger’s room was next door to mine. Chesley had come up to my room and we were continuing the party from the bum room. We decided a little Doors would be appropriate. So the turntable was fired up and the needle placed on the start of Morrison Hotel. (Yes I’m digital now, but there was nothing better than a Thorens turntable with clean vinyl for pure stereo back in the day….) Of course, at that time of night, it seemed reasonable to us that if a little volume was good, a lot of volume would be great! The bass boomed, and the next thing we knew, Roger comes flying through the door, hollering at us to turn that &*#% down! Turns out that the vibration from my speakers had knocked his bookshelves and books off of the wall, crashing down on Roger and Chris (Mrs. Benson Willis now) sleeping on the floor. Oooops!"
