| EventsClass of 1987 - 25th Anniversary Date: October 13, 2012 By Jeff McCuen To the Fall '87 Pledge Class... Hey guys, let's all make plan to be back at Delta Delta a year from now (October 13, 2012) for the best Homecoming that Purdue has ever seen - and to celebrate our 25th reunion! You've got plenty of time to plan, so no excuses! But... to make it great, we need to get everyone back! I could only find a handful of us on Facebook, so I need your help tracking our other pledge brothers down. If you are like me, you probably forgot a few names. Click on the headline to see a list that I actually found in my old college note binder! (clearly from a dot-matrix printer! circa 1987 technology). Homecoming Date: October 13, 2012 Football season is approaching! Come cheer on the Boilermakers with brothers and alumni at the homecoming game this year on October 13, 2012 where they take on Wisconsin. Click here to view the full schedule. All Events |
| NewsAlumni Update - Lt. Col. Ryan Samuelson USAF Alumni Brother Ryan Samuelson, Delta Delta Spring ‘91, has been recognized for his hard work and efforts towards those around him and his career. The recognition in turn gave forth a promotion to Samuelson to command the 64th Air Refueling Squadron (ARS) at Pease Air National Guard Base in New Hampshire. This not only signifies a great leap of faith and hope towards fusing the ARS and the 157th Air Refueling Wing, but also to Samuelson personally as many had great remarks were made publicly about him. See the remarks and more of this honorable military story here. What's in a (Nick)Name? Thank you to the brothers who answered our call for stories about their nicknames. James Watson '84 a.k.a. "Genghis Jim" writes: "When I was a pledge in the fall of '79, I had jet black hair, a Bruce Lee style haircut and wireframe glasses that gave me the appearance of having “almond shape eyes”. I also studied martial arts and had a 'Type A' personality. I can only assume, but this is why I believe I was given the nickname 'Genghis Jim,' Genghis for short." For Those Attending Football Games Brother Halkias has set up a Google Docs spreadsheet to actively see who is attending what games. Please give us your input by clicking here. This will also help us determine for what games to focus our attention on, especially with our ever-loved tailgating. If you cannot access the Google Docs, please email Brother Kyle Hodges at hodges.purdue@gmail.com. Did You Land a Job Thanks to Delta Sig? Delta Sig Friendships Don't End at Graduation Despite the physical distance between Matt Schafer ’98 and the other brothers from his era, they continue to remain close. “ It’s been a great experience attending a lot of brothers’ weddings and getting to know their spouses and watching as these new ‘families’ bond together and enjoy experiencing things together just as we guys did back in college,” Matt says of his alumni experience.
